About the Journal

The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Technology (IJAIT) is one of the premier journals on IT & AI broadly conceived. The journal is published by ARIFA, two issues yearly, and all published articles can be accessed free of charge.

IJAIT publishes original papers on all aspects of IT & AI, whether they describe proposals for new ways of looking at IT & AI problems and the results achieved, or novel IT & AI methods advancing performance in application areas.

Apart from Regular Papers, the journal also accepts Research Notes, Research Field Reviews, Position Papers, Book Reviews, and papers summarizing Challenges and Competitions from all areas of IT & AI.

A rigorous, peer-reviewed venue dedicated to advancing computational intelligence and technological innovation across the African continent and beyond.

How to Submit

To submit your work, please Login or Register on the journal submission portal. New authors are required to register before making their first submission.

Authors are required to follow the guidelines of the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence and Technology. The journal template is available for download, and IJAIT uses the IEEE citation format for citations and bibliography.

Submission Checklist

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • The submission file is in LaTeX, OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, DOI and URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Use this list to carry out a final check of your submission before sending it to the journal for review. Manuscripts must follow IJAIT formatting and IEEE citation conventions.

Minimum Standards

  • Written in English
  • Between 4 and 16 pages in length
  • Use EndNote, Mendeley, or Zotero for reference management
  • IEEE citation style required

Title & Abstract

  • Title: maximum 10 words, no acronyms or abbreviations
  • Abstract: maximum 200 words, self-explanatory, no citations
  • State the problem, the proposed approach, and major findings

Article Structure

  • Introduction
  • Proposed Method / Algorithm (optional)
  • Research Method
  • Results & Discussion
  • Conclusion

References

  • Minimum of 20 references related to topic
  • At least 80% from journal articles
  • At least 80% published within the last 5 years
  • Cited in numerical order in square brackets [1], [2], [3–5]

Figures & Tables

  • All numbered in order of appearance
  • Each must have a descriptive caption
  • Figure captions appear below the figure
  • Cited in text and credited if reproduced from another source

Equations & Variables

  • Left-align equations; number flush-right
  • Reference equations as "Eqn. (1)" — not "Equation"
  • Variables presented in italics
  • Consistent numbering throughout manuscript
